The primary Japanese online auction site is Yahoo Japan, where thousands of vintage to modern Japanese motorcycles and parts are available daily.  Yahoo Japan and eBay plan an arrangement to be in effect by March 2008 that will allow U.S. bidders to bid upon Yahoo Japan items.  However – this is important - most Japanese listers will not ship internationally.  The service we offer to eBayers is to arrange for shipment of the motorcycle(s) you have won to your nearest U.S. Customs Clearing Warehouse (or POE – Point of Entry) for reasonable fees.  We have been providing this service on a small scale to known customers for several years, with great results.

You’ve found the motorcycle you need and must have.  You’ve bid and won.  Now we’ll prepare to ship the motorcycle to you.  First the motorcycle must be shipped intra-Japan by the seller to our agent in Japan.  Then the motorcycle will be inspected to insure it is the same unit listed in the auction, and that there are no glaring  inconsistencies.  We will not perform any inspection that requires disassembly or removal of parts.  Please remember you are buying based on the honesty of the seller, the images provided on the auction site, and your judgment of same.
The motorcycle will then be crated and delivered to the port in Kobe in Japan, from where the crate will be shipped by sea and/or overland to your nearest U.S. Customs clearing warehouse.  All shipping arrangements and documents required for the delivery to your clearing warehouse are including in our service fee.

*Should the buyer determine to cancel the process at this point, we would then attempt to re-sell or re-auction the motorcycle to recover the full amount of the original winning bid.  Should we recover the full amount, we would then submit the original 50% back to the buyer.  However, this cannot be guaranteed so the original 50% must be considered non-refundable.  Our fees are non-refundable in any case.  Thanks for understanding

Fees for our service only (see below) are:

  ·         300USD for motorcycles costing at auction up to 3000USD, regardless of final auction price.

  ·         15% of final auction price from over 3000USD and up with a maximum fee of 1500USD.  Increased fees over 3000USD address our increased monetary risk.

Our fees above are for our service only.  Our fees do not include intra-Japan shipping to our Himeji location, crating and delivery of motorcycle to outbound international port, overseas and/or intra-U.S. shipping, inbound port fees, customs fees, or warehouse receipt/storage fees, etc.  The total for these items can approach 1500USD, depending on distances and other variables.  These costs are out of our control.

50% of final auction price plus our fee is required as soon as the auction is complete.  At that point we will cover the remainder of the purchase, meaning we have bought the motorcycle and have arranged to ship it to our location in Himeji, Japan.  Therefore this 50% payment is non-refundable as we would then have to arrange to re-sell/auction the motorcycle to recover our funds.*  As to your risk, this is no different – and perhaps better - in that respect than buying a bike from an online auction in the U.S.

IMPORTANT: No complete motorcycles built after 1973 can be imported into the United States due to D.O.T. and EPA restrictions.  Buyers will be responsible to hire a customs broker to bring the bike through U.S. Customs, pay dock fees, etc.  We will be glad to provide advice for this process based on our experience.  Buyers are responsible for shipping arrangements and costs to final U.S. destinations, if required, beyond the clearing warehouse.
